Like the GEA should be, when you think about it as a as it's it's built on community as Amershith, there should be an almost an egalitarian aspect to it.
It's fair, it's equal, whereas actually it's not in many ways.
You see you see the population bias, you see some provinces have an easier run.
So it's it's never been that.
But this year it felt that it was there was more equal opportunity and the results played like that.
You know, teams, even the way the Talchum Cup, if you look at it as a competition, it's taken four or five years to develop itself as opposed to being just sort of this sort of token competition.
That you looked at Wicklow, you looked at that competition, said now these teams.
For this year, whatever bit where they might get to next year, they have something to play for that's worth playing for and that's recognised and respected.
And all of the teams that sort of competed well, the Downs, the Westmead, the Monaghans, a lot of teams, they were very, very part.
A real part, not just a token footnote.
They were a real part to the story this year that they felt relevant.
They weren't just sort of giving us up because they had a plucky provincial championship, they were relevant.
And that is for me the overriding feeling about it.
Because that is crucial to having a really thriving
Sport and competition.
And I think that's look at how many counties now are leaving 2026, already starting the preparations for 2027, saying, Jesus, if it's not an All-Ireland championship, it's a provincial or even a Talchon Cup now is something to go for.
And that's what you want.
