You know, everyone doesn't have a Ryan O'Donoghue who is, at this stage, one of the best tacklers in the game, has mobility of the lower centre of gravity.
I actually was watching it this morning, one of his turnovers, and I froze it back and I showed the boys, and I'm coaching the lads on how to tackle.
Watch how he tackles.
Many lazy tacklers just leave a hand in
He moves his feet.
He was a boxer.
Quick feet, getting his body, moving his body as much as he's moving his hands to make sure that he's sort of getting his body in the right position, not to give away a cheap, free, simple thing.
There's a lot of players who can't do that.
Okay, so you have to play to your strengths.
So if every team goes out now and they don't have the mobility, if they don't have the good technical tackling, they get absolutely railroaded.
So as you say, you have to play to your strengths and teams will be looking at it.
But can we add a wee bit more of that in it?
That's the thing.
That was coached.
You don't just turn up and say, right, boys, beating your chest out the door.
That's coached.
That's good coaching.
Swarm tackling.
And you have to allow boys to allow them to play to the lane, knowing that you're not going to get them all.
But if you're tackling in the right place, it's okay to do that tackling.
