And this is where you start to see politics responding to the incentives that are
to the mutual incentive of the influencer algorithm and crowd operating as a unit.
And that's what's happening there at all times.

Um, I've noticed it in the, so again, it's where you see people move into the political realm.
Often it's very common there.
Um,
What you start to see happen is people who, there's an essay that I absolutely love called The Internet of Beefs, and it has really stood the test of time.
It's a friend of mine, Venkatesh Rao.
We were writing around the same time for this kind of like content community called Ribbon Farm, this essay community, and we were writing in kind of the 2015 to 2018 range, so really early on about
the rise of the gladiatorial arena, right?
Like what happens with online crowds specifically.
And the idea of the Internet of Beeps is that the point is to fight, that the fight draws the bystander in.
The point is not to win.
Just to be clear, you don't want to win because if you win, then the content
and the crowds disperse, right?
The point is to keep the fight going.
And so it's actually like fantastic for creators to be beefing with each other because people are like, whoa, it's like a soap opera.
The parasocial fans are there and like, is it my guy who's like, is my guy beating your guy whose dunk is better, right?
And you start to see these, like the crowds assemble and participate.
