So that dynamic, maybe you come up with the meme that all of a sudden everybody uses, right?
Do you remember eating the pets?
I mean, no one will ever forget that.
No.
No, my gosh, really?
Oh yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yes.
Yes.
It was a, I think it was, it was like the canonical example of something that was, it was a rumor, right.
That started on Facebook that made its way to Twitter and, or X. One of the reasons that it blew up in the way it did was that it had that blend of like,
weirdness right that just lent itself to content creation now it was like a horribly racist thing right and it really negatively impacted people in some pretty terrible ways because these things don't stay online and that's one of the real problems here a lot of the time we talk about the meme we talk about the jokes and in this particular case people made memes of Donald Trump going and pulling ducks out of ponds going and you know running with kittens
But it kind of gave people a thing to do for this period in time.
And it originally, I think, felt kind of fun for the Trump supporting audience who kind of picked this up and ran with it.
But then what you see happen is like,
It goes from being something where people are creating content.
It's fun.
It's funny.
And then you see the political elites realize that this is something that the online base is so amped up about, so into.
