We know how we can play and given the quality that we know Man City had today, we just knew that we had to work
as hard as them, if not harder, and we knew that they'd have a lot of the ball, but we had our game plan and I thought we stuck to it quite well.
What was the game plan today from Everton's point of view?
Two banks of four and defend well, slide and then try and keep them one way, which I thought we did on numerous occasions, but like you say, they've got a lot of quality in their team, so they're going to get through us at times, but I think it was more so mentally just to stay patient, stay confident in our ability and
We did that through large parts of the game.
Another goal for you, another message to your manager that you should be in the starting line-up?
Yeah, that's what I'm there to do.
I'm there to score goals, so I'm happy with that, but disappointed not to get a result from the game ultimately.
We look at where we are on the table and we want to try and improve on that.
I don't think so, no.
To be fair, I thought that he was going to cross it at first, so I just got myself in a position to score and...
You know, I just, as any striker would, I try and put it in the back of the net.
At the end of the day, how important was the performance today and what can you as a team take from it?
It was very important that we played well today and I thought, like I say, we did for large parts of the game to take confidence from it, given we didn't get the result.
But I think going forward, we know what we're capable of and it's kind of ironing out the dips in form that we kind of have and it's about staying consistently good and that's what we're aiming to do.
Dominic, appreciate your time.
Thank you.
I think so.
We had a few good chances during the game.
Perhaps if we were more clinical at times, it might have been a few more, but I think ultimately we got the win and it's the three points that count.
