A promise is worth the paper and the ink it's written on.

And that's what it was.

We all kind of sat down, you know, in a room not all that long ago and thought, you know, hey, what do we want our customers, our clients to feel when they work with us, when they talk to us, right?

And we wanted to feel, wanted to inspire that same feeling that we felt, like, hey, we're keeping the stuff here.

We're doing the good work here.

You know, if you're helping to feed our country, helping to feed our people, right, helping to keep the infrastructure running, we ought to do the same thing.

Okay, so it really is about where it appears on your tax return, right?

And so a credit, right, a credit against your taxable income there is ostensibly, especially for this R&D credit, a dollar-for-dollar offset of that income, right?

So you have $100,000 of credit, you have $100,000 of tax, they net out to zero, right?

A deduction is a little bit more nuanced.

And what that means is that you're going to be able to reduce that, but you're not going to eliminate it.

It's not going to be refundable in certain places.

Deductions are also oftentimes more common at the federal level.
