This is it, ladies and gentlemen, the main event between Savini and young Billy Johnson, substituted early in the week for the injured Kid Dodd.
Incidentally, and before the fight starts, I want you fans to know that the Kid's injuries were not as serious as first imagined, and he'll be out of the hospital in a week.
Well, the two fighters are back in their corners waiting, and there's the bell for round one.
He's out of the corner.
He's trying to end it in a hurry.
He jabs Johnson's head with a hard left.
Johnson's backing away.
Savini throws a ripping right.
Johnson takes a right on the head.
And now Johnson leads with a light left hand.
But it's short, and Savini returns a solid right to the body.
The challenger is staggered.
He's hurt.
Johnson is in trouble.
I don't know why you say that.
Back in the center of the ring, Johnson is hurt, but he's holding on gamely.
Savini is moving into the kill, but he's getting careless.
His guard is down.
There goes his right in a roundhouse.
