Sure.

And thank you for having me.

Quitting smoking was probably the hardest thing I've ever done.

So I kind of like to talk about it because I kind of like to brag because I actually did it.

I live here in Southern California and I've been here for longer than I've lived anywhere else because I've lived quite a few places and just happy to be here and happy to be alive and excited to share my story.

Well, it started way back when.

Actually, I was probably 13 or 14 years old, somewhere in there.

This boy at school had taken my purse and he wasn't going to give it back.

And he said, is it because you have cigarettes in here?

And I said, yeah, that's why.

Well, then I couldn't be a liar.

So then I had to buy the cigarettes and then I had to keep it going.

And so I started smoking occasionally there, usually at school.

That went on for several years, all through high school.

And then when I moved out from my parents' home, that's when I really started smoking.

That's when I really became a real smoker.

I never thought, oh, I should quit.

I never thought that.

I thought, oh, I'm just going to be an old lady sitting on a rocking chair, crocheting, cigarette and a beer.

That's going to be me.
