The Godfather.
What's up, Godfather?
Well, A-Rod really should not have done it.
It was all because the Yankees wouldn't let a player besides Derek Jeter play at shortstop.
But a little fun fact there, Alex Rodriguez was a better shortstop than Derek Jeter was.
They forced A-Rod to play third base.
That's how that went.
I've long said that Derek Jeter, not to get on this rant, but Jeter is, as a fielder, one of the more overrated shortstops of all time.
Yeah, I mean, hell of a hitter, without question.
Extremely clutch in big moments, but fielding-wise, one of the more overrated defensive players that...
we have seen in Major League Baseball in the last 30 years.
That's the only reason why Alex Rodriguez had to move to third base.
He was the best shortstop on the Yankees roster in the mid-2000s, and it wasn't close.
But to the point there from the godfather about O'Neal Cruz potentially moving from center field to third base after he already moved from shortstop to center field, I don't want to keep doing that to the guy.
I really don't.
Do you wonder, will he ever become a good defensive player?
Maybe if you just let the guy play the position you put him in.
Don't pull the plug so quickly.
I'm going to keep the guy out in center field.
