Doug, so let's talk about some of the pitchers, some of the areas that the Blue Jays are doing a better job of on the pitching side.
And they've had some pretty good success the last few drafts with high school arms.
And that is normally the hardest thing to kind of hit on.
There are a pair of them at Vancouver right now in Johnny King and Nolan Perry who are putting up pretty eye-popping numbers.
That's a tough place to pitch as it gets a little warmer.
We'll see how that goes.
But what can you tell us about where Johnny King and especially Nolan Perry are developmentally?
Because I know you got the chance to talk to Nolan Perry this weekend.
Yeah, and while King's 19 and is a more recent draft pick, Perry, because he didn't pitch coming out of his draft year and missed all of last year with Tommy John, it seems too soon, but they're going to have to 40-man him this offseason because he'll be Rule 5 eligible.
So you obviously have to keep his health in mind, but you probably also want to test him at AA at some point this summer because he's going to have to be on the 40-man list.
by next season, and you're not going to hot shot a guy, but if you're going to have to start using options and a roster spot on a guy, you'll want to know he's, you know, within a year.
So it's part of why Adam Macko got moved to the bullpen this year is, you know, if he's going to be at options next year, see where you can fit him in for a role.
Let's stay with that Vancouver team.
because I don't understand how they're in last place.
Now, Northwest league is weird.
They actually have a positive run differential, even though they're 10 games under 500.
So some bad luck there, but they have this two headed monster at the start of the rotation.
Daniel Guerra has been pretty good as well.
And then they have a hitter who you called the farm systems player of the month for may in Alexis Hernandez.
He's up to almost a one 40 OPS plus at that level.
