What can you tell us about Hernandez and why may went so well for him?
That's great to hear.
Yeah, and I guess the more interesting hitter names in the system, and there are interesting guys on Vancouver beyond Hernandez, but they have reached the AA level where everyone is a lefty with good power, or they're in the lower levels where they've got a couple speedsters and things like that.
I wanted to ask you about Jake Cook because Jake Cook is not one of the guys that I would say is off to a good start.
He's his first year playing at Dunedin.
He's 22.
So he's already a little older.
This was the Jays third round pick last year.
And Doug, when we talked to draft people about him last year, it was a pretty fascinating developmental play by the Jays.
He's underslot as a third round pick, a guy who's tools out like crazy, a combine standout, but hadn't had a lot of,
time as a hitter.
I believe he only played one year at college as a position player.
He was a pitcher before that.
And so he is understandably struggling with the contact side of the ball at single A right now.
I know you're going to talk to him later this week for your next newsletter, but what can you tell us about where he's had and what you'll be trying to dive in with him when you get a chance to talk to him?
Yeah, that's a lot of great context there.
And yeah, the stolen base success rate, given that he was thrown out more than he stole bases as a college senior last year, that's encouraging here.
I'll look forward to notes from that conversation in your next newsletter.
Let's whip around a couple other names in the minors here.
Let's do Juan Sanchez, because he was a guy that came up a lot on this show last year, and I think there was a little bit of, like, who is this guy?
