Doug, with respect to Charles McAdoo, I know this is something that came up in your newsletter last year, the Future Blue Jays newsletter that you're now doing for the Toronto Star.
What...
The way you understand it, what changed for him coming out of that stint on the development list last year?
Because he was someone who struggled after the Jays acquired him and got off to a slow start last year and is now on the Major League roster and playing a couple different positions around the infield.
What changed with that dev list stint?
So a couple of guys who have been, you know, success stories as far as coming up as major league depth.
You mentioned CJ Van Eyck a little earlier, but even if he were to, you know, come up and plug in here, the Jays are having to run a three man rotation right now.
And look, no, show me the organization that could withstand like six starting pitcher injuries in
It's not fair, I think, to criticize the organization in the big picture.
However, if we look at the strengths and weaknesses of where the system is right now, the near-to-the-majors starting pitching depth is still probably the biggest weakness.
They have good pitching at the lower levels.
They've got pretty interesting hitting, especially left-handed hitting throughout.
Why do you think it is, maybe, if there is a through line of that 8-10...
guy on the starting pithing depth chart in the organization that has still been a little elusive for this organization.
Yeah.
It's a, it's a little too much at this point.
I'll also point out in addition to the injury luck and this being difficult, they did trade away a couple of guys at last year's deadline who would maybe not be in the, you know, maybe Kendry Rojas would be in the majors right now in a swing man role.
Um, you know, uh, Cal Steven and drawn Watts Brown wouldn't be yet, but they would at least be on the depth chart somewhere.
So, uh,
When you try to win a World Series, you're going to cash in some of those chips as well.
