Stafford will give them up.
But in season he won't.
When you were behind Favre, was it a tough role?
Yeah, absolutely.
Ty's going to get all the snaps during training camp.
That's a given.
Stafford's going to sit, he's going to watch, and he's going to help coach just a little bit.
But you've got to understand, too, when I went to Green Bay –
I was a veteran quarterback who had played, and I wasn't necessarily a rookie, so I kind of had a little bit of a leg up, let's say, in the National Football League in how to be a backup and support a guy like Brett Favre.
Obviously, you're trying to learn a system, and you're trying to get yourself ready as a backup quarterback to possibly play on a Sunday if need be.
So, you know, Ty Simpson's coming into, obviously, to me, a great situation, a great coach.
To watch a guy like Matthew Stafford come to work every single day and prepare himself for Sunday, it's a great teacher and a great lesson for Ty.
But at the same time, what Ty can do is he can be an extra set of eyes on the sideline.
He can be another coach, so to speak.
He's in those meetings.
He's listening to what...
you know, the game plan is and how they're going to attack an opponent.
And he can be that set of eyes, obviously, for Matthew Stafford and a lot of communication there.
But his biggest thing coming in as a rookie is how fast can he pick up the system.
You know, you coached Bill Parcells.
