I was like, well, do you think they want their tax dollars to pay for healthcare for you?
And they're like, well, no, that's why we should all pay for ourselves.
And I'm like, except for you don't know when you're going to need it.
You may think you're self-sufficient, but I've seen hospital bills in the hundreds of thousands that neither you nor them can pay.
So wouldn't it be smarter if all of us just agreed that we could show up for each other and then all of us benefited?
And it's that willingness to intertwine ourselves with each other, to live in community, to see somebody eye to eye, to recognize that like, I may not know you or your experience or how you show up in the world, but I know that when you look at your kids, you feel some kind of way because I feel the same way.
And I want to show up for you so you could show up for them.
I want to show up for them so they can be there for you.
And I know that at the end of the day, if that's all we have in common, then that should be enough.
And if I lived in Michigan, I would definitely vote for you.
Yeah.
