really highlights that Northern Ireland's poor economic performance relative to Ireland is likely driven by lower levels of productivity, a kind of a widening gap in educational attainment, lower export orientation and lower intensity and poor quality FDI.

The short-term picture shows robust economic growth in both.
I think in the year ending Q2 2025, the Northern Ireland Economic Composite Index, it's kind of a measure of GDP, increased by around 2.8%, which was outperforming the UK economy, which grew by around 1.3% over the same period.
