Yeah, so those are birders.
We just passed a group of birders.
And so one of the big things about the management here is that all of the trees have been intentionally kind of kept to keep this environment where you can see a lot of wildlife.
And we're an archeological reserve in a larger natural park, national reserve.
And so you do get jaguars coming through.
You get to see tapirs here if you're really lucky.
You'll hear the howler monkeys.
You might see spider monkeys.
And then early in the morning, you see tons of birds.
So if you get in your car first thing, you'll come out here and you'll see a bunch of birders looking at all the species that are present.
Look at the archeology folks.
But to be fair for the ancient Maya, they would have been keeping trees and forest here too.
So you have this mix of human use of space and natural use, and it creates this fully anthropogenic or human landscape.
And so the Maya are mixing natural and human elements together and making it this really fluid garden city.
And so you can see echoes of that in the modern management system.
And if you look at house prices, you'll notice that places that have that urban forest tend to be much wealthier and more well endowed than places that don't have the tree canopy.
Exactly.
They were aware of this, but they're also, they know which of these tree species are medicinal.
They know which ones have resources they can use.
Think of it like a mix of your medicine cabinet with your kitchen cupboard, but it's growing all around your household.
