I think a lot about decision making and there are a few chapters in Time Wise that are all about very simple ways to make better decisions.
One of my favourites comes from Turia Pitt and something she wrote.
And something she was kind of realising was an issue in her life is that she would get asked to do things, like let's say speak at an event in six months' time.
And in six months' time, most of our calendars look pretty empty, like there's not much going on.
And so we're like, okay, I'll say yes because life is quiet then, so I feel fine about that.
But then what inevitably happens is our diary fills up and the event comes around and we're like, okay,
Why did I say yes to that?
It's the last thing I feel like doing.
So what Turia does is she has a rule that she calls the next Tuesday rule, where she will ask herself, if this thing that I'm being asked to do to spend my time on
is like was happening next tuesday how would i feel about it and if she'd feel really excited if it was happening next tuesday she says yes but if she you know would feel anything less than excited she says no i think it's a really good gauge like you know it might be a party even in our social life that we're being invited to it might be
