I'm so sorry it's under these circumstances.
Well, you know, the first thing that I thought is that they've not had enough time.
And I know that is the most frustrating thing ever, especially a grieving family.
I mean, I have a son myself.
I can't, it's just unimaginable.
But, you know, it is so important for the autopsy to be done right.
And autopsies are really done in two parts.
First, there's the physical part that usually takes somewhere from a day to four days, not that long.
where it's quite literally just a dissection of the body to just see, were there any fractures, any injuries, any bleeding, things of that nature.
And then the second part really is what takes a lot of time.
It can take up to 12 weeks sometimes to do toxicology, which is looking at what types of chemicals may be in the blood, for example, doing histology, where you actually take
samples of different organs, different parts of the body and look at it under a microscope.
And that can really take a long time to not only determine what is there, but also what was there previously, potentially, and what could have been the cause of death.
And then that
in conjunction with some of the other external findings, where the body was found, what location, things of that nature, ultimately allows the coroner to come out with a cause of death, usually a primary cause and a secondary cause.
And then, of course, that's going to be part of public record.
And in this case, potentially a criminal investigation.
We just don't know anything yet.
So that's why it's just so important that it's done properly.
