Even though the emotional part of our brain said, this can't be happening, the financial part of our brain said, wow, this is more increase than we had allowed for.
It's just totally surprising to us just how much
it takes to build.
The housing market is just incredible as far as builders.
Quite a number of them don't even want to guarantee the price from the time you sign a contract.
So we just decided we'll take our time, we'll build a barn, we'll put some of our storage stuff there and just sit.
Yeah, some days we feel frozen.
And so we watch a movie.
Other days, it just seems like we're needing to get in contact with the right builder as well.
It's not just the price.
It's just that the builders are nervous themselves about what they want to do.
And I guess you'd have to say we're shopping for builders as well as shopping for building a house that we can afford.
But for us, it just feels like our whole life just got turned upside down in a way.
It's just overwhelming.
So I'm sure we'll work our way out of this.
But I think our scientific minds and the analytical part are just flabbergasted at how, why can't we just work through this?
And instead, we're kind of sitting and we're not the personality types that like to do that forever.
And I keep thinking, well, if we're going to do this, we might as well just travel across the country.
And then there's COVID.
