And I think my first exposure to was probably when I was doing OB with women in labor.
And they were very much, let's say, didn't want to have a lot of pain problems.
drugs and things like that because of its impact on the on their baby things like that and a lot of the practices of breathing to get through the pain of labor is where i really saw the impact of that as as being like i'm really pretty pretty amazing something so simple and it's not weird that's the other thing is everybody talk meditation and people think about you know it's
zombies and things being weird.
And this is something that is very simple that all of us can do because it's just expanding on some of the things we do automatically, like breathing, like closing our, you know, closing our eyes.
And the sense of control, I think really helps you to gather yourself in a little bit and that calming down
um gives you a different perspective so that that's sort of my take on it i've seen how helpful it is in clinical practice um but personally uh for me doing you know i i wish i i do it every single day i don't but i do it more often than not and it's like it's a 10 minute sit in a comfortable chair um i like to play native american flute music by nakai and
just close my eyes and do that breathing.
And after you just feel so refreshed.
And a lot of these things that you're worrying about do tend to diminish.
Again, David, you see this much more often in your day-to-day work, but that's sort of one person's take on it from my view of the balcony as it were.
So building on this idea of the importance of social connection, one of the things I've always been curious about is,
Meditation oftentimes, you know, people do it by themselves.
And I'm just wondering if you do some meditation practices in community, does that change the impact of it?
In other words, is that an amplifying effect or is it more leveraged?
when you're able to do that in community with others.
I just know like, you know, singing with other people and you close it and like, I started getting goosebumps.
You know, I mean, you could really feel differences.
