For much of his life, Jim felt like a banana slug transported into the Mojave Desert without the appropriate evolutionary adaptations.

And Jim, you've also shared that your late diagnosis transformed you by providing a context and a map in that you thought you were a messed up horse for 58 years.

If I could add, I have about 80 house plants.

And if they could survive me, they really adapt well.

Wow.

And when you talk about you love teaching, one of the things that was very interesting to me is that something I read that you either wrote or you said, you refer to yourself as an autistic empath.

And we actually did an interview about empaths and the overlap between neurodivergent people and empaths.

So if you could talk about that, you have this deep sense of caring and really wanting for people to have a good kind of success in their life moving forward, especially students.
