And I was like, how will I ever get through this?
And I realised, that's why they take the knives away in the night time.
But I remember thinking, if I get through this, I will get through anything.
I'm not comfortable with it.
I'd be looking around.
The truth would be
that I wouldn't have believed in it, but if that person could understand it, that what you're going through now is going to, is creating a part of you that is going to be so strong, so resilient and bring a lot of joy to other people in your life, loved ones in your life.
So it's purposeful.
When I think of rock bottom, rock bottom is a funny one because I've known people that have been lower than me on rock bottom and they still keep digging.
They don't get out.
So I think what rock bottom can give some people and what it gave me was awareness, self-awareness.
It opened up my eyes, it gave me a knowing and I think there's something psychological in that.
That the pain of what you're going through, it's your ego, it's your sense of your conceptual sense of self is just dissolved and broken.
And as a result of that, you nearly have to carve a new self for yourself.
So you're looking at the world through new eyes and through new eyes like a baby.
You're aware you're seeing things for the first time.
So I think what rock bottom can give people is new eyes and a sense of awareness and a chance of a different path.
So what I always say to this, there is always hope.
But I think I tried to flip this question on its head.
And I would actually say, think of someone.
