But the people who are building the royal tomb in the Valley of the Kings are stuck in one little village, which one sets abandoned eventually, not that long after the death of Ramses III.

all that stuff is left and all their notes and all their tombs and their chapels and their houses are preserved.

So that is a really valuable insight into what is happening then.
