There is no reason to blanket universal recommend a happy vaccine.
So the ACIP, the A stands for advisory.
It's the Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices.
And they don't have
real power.
Their recommendation goes to the director or acting director of the CDC, which currently is Jim O'Neill.
But in the past, they have not looked.
In fact, this committee meetings on hepatitis B is screaming that we have no evidence to support
these drastic interventions that we're making.
And they didn't have it back then.
And by our current standards of evaluating evidence to recommendation, the hep B birth vaccine would never have been approved.
And I think a lot of people are breathing a great sigh of relief that it is now no longer going to be recommended.

Yeah, so it is quite a heated conference meeting, as you would expect, because both sides believe that the other position is harming babies.
And so what the conversation is really on is the birth hepatitis B vaccine, which is recommended to be given at day of life.
And there are two issues that the proponents for the vaccine never mentioned.
One is the adverse events that manifest from autoimmune issues related to the vaccine, like Guillain-Barre syndrome or other demyelinating conditions.
And the other is aluminum, which is in both of the available infant vaccines.
