Ticks and tricks.
Ticks can be a problem all year, but especially in this sort of gray weather where it's 10 degrees Celsius for the Canadians.
Ticks are coming out.
And so us veterinarians are warning people about over-the-counter tick preventatives because they usually contain a type of drug called pyrethrin, permethrin, pyrethrin.
There's another name I can't remember, but it'll basically sound like pyrethrin.
And while they're very good at getting rid of ticks, they're also very good at causing neurological problems in cats and dogs.
So avoid over-the-counter medications.
Stick with your veterinarian stuff.
And feed more canned food to your cat.
Okay.
Check your pets for ticks, I guess.
What is that?
Like a bullseye?
You got to worry for that Lyme disease on that?
You do have to worry about Lyme disease.
They generally don't get that bullseye like they do in people.
And the problem is, is if they got the bullseye, it's too late.
So check your, if your cat or dog goes outside, if your dog obviously goes outside, check it for ticks around the neck, around the muzzle, around the paws, especially.
And it's very easy to pull them off with just a little wet Q-tip.
All kinds of things.
