And that's when you ask someone, why do you think you're here?
That's what they say.
It's a lovely phrase.
I should come and talk to someone.
Yeah, maybe.
I mean, it's oftentimes off the back of some event.
You know, there was an argument or a family row or my parent died last year and I just haven't been able to get back from that or I'm struggling in my job or I want to drop out of college or, you know, there's something either has just happened or is on the precipice of happening.
And oftentimes it's those events that cause someone to come to therapy.
It's interesting that
You know, when people come to therapy, it's very rarely one event that causes the issue.
You know, there's very few people that say to me, my life is perfect, but on the 8th of February, 2025, this happened.
It's generally accumulation or the impact of accumulative events.
This happened six months ago, then this happened two months ago, then this.
And I think most of us can take the hit of one event
trauma, if you want to use that word, but it's a bit like concussion.
Repeated ones, one after another, after another can just leave us footless a bit.
No, I don't think it's dose related.
From the point of view, the more you do, the more you'll get.
I mean, the therapy format or the dynamic demands a lot of how much you want to change.
So, you know, the joke is how many psychotherapists does it take to change a light bulb?
