And I think we're seeing that with, that's what I think we're seeing with the big fantasy boom at the moment.
It's giving people a completely different world that's separate from the same stresses now.
But what I think is interesting here as well, though, is it's often the same universal stories that are still explored in those other worlds.
You know, it's stories of loss or love or death.
day-to-day challenges, that's all universal.
And actually the reason for that is that our brains need to understand ourselves better.
We need to work through emotions.
We need to also prepare ourselves for unexpected events in the world.
So we actually get really drawn to stories because they help our brains to practice, essentially practice real life.
but through this make-believe world.
And that's honing what's called the predictive coding of our brains.
That's the ability of our brains then to respond to things in the world around us.
So it's not just a kind of frivolous escapism.
It's also actually really nurturing a core neurological, psychological process that we depend on to manage and respond to the world around us day to day.
Have you seen that?
Absolutely.
Talk about that.
Okay, so it's true, but you need to know the hack to get this right.
So we definitely need these scary experiences.
Think about kids.
