So
My question is, what do you do with that?
How do you use stoicism to bring people to the understanding that we really can be an and instead of an or?
Oh, it it's it's really hard to separate it out from emergency medicine because it's really just so ingrained.
Right.
Uh Seneca has this great quote I love, which is endeavor not to trip over something behind you.
Right.
So you always want to keep moving forward and and trying to figure out what comes next.
And I think that's equally applicable if you, you know, you miss an IV you're placing and you have to go place the next one, or on a much broader scale, you have something just truly horrible happen.
That next family needs you to show up for them with the same compassion and love and care and and ability as you had for the case that just went terribly wrong.
Right.
So you have to sort of endeavor not to trip over that and to to keep moving forward with it.
Hi, folks.
Thanks for having me.
Absolutely.
I mean, I really came to stoicism through medicine.
And when you work in medicine, you are exposed to this really raw, very vulnerable part of humanity, right?
You're with people as they suffer, you're with them as they survive, and sometimes you're with them as they die.
And there are days when you and your team, you give everything.
You just give everything you possibly have and it's still not enough, right?
