It's a tough gig.
He's trapped on the island of Ogygia.
My heart bleeds for him.
But he is wracked with one of the great pains of all, nostalgia.
He has algos, pain, for his nostos.
Nostos is the most important word in the Odyssey.
It is the journey home, the return back to where you belong.
both in terms of place, but also in terms of people.
That is the one thing motivating Odysseus in his struggles.
But this goddess, Calypso, whose name means the concealer, has managed to successfully hide Odysseus on his own, on this island, and every day sleeps with him.
