That's a deep question.
How do they facilitate?
Well, firstly, we need to actually have a dialogue around what matrescence is and what's actually happening.
And it's a really challenging one.
I don't want to get myself in trouble.
There's some roles for some women that I work with that it's actually impossible.
to go in as their new self.
It's a real challenge because you are expected to come back and in the middle of the night, you're meant to be up there if there's a trauma case.
And there is no allowance made for, you may have a baby, you may be lactating, you may be breastfeeding,
There's also a larger societal sort of responsibility in terms of ensuring that there's social supports for the mom.
In terms of social supports as in that there is the ability for the mom to be able to perform the job that she wants to perform at the level she wants to perform it at.
Does that make sense?
It's not just the role of the employer, but it's actually the role of society.
How are we structuring our society?
Where has the village gone to support this mom?
How is this mom and dad, how are they feeding the child?
How are they getting all the kids to a thousand different places?
How are you able to do this job?
