And so everybody saves that.

And as a result, we get this really top drawer intellectualism.

it makes them these whole people.

You know, they are not two-dimensional individuals.

We really get to hear what they think.

Flaws and all, right?

Like, Peter Abelard is a deeply, deeply flawed man, but he's interesting.

And it's really interesting to read his work.

And they're involved in, like, such dramatic things.

So...

It tells us a lot about how medieval people actually are.

They're not just these ideas, brief sketches of a person who they're all just God-fearing and attempting to do the right thing.

They are difficult individuals who have a lot of motivations.

And it just tells us this story that is so incredibly compelling.

And that's why I'm obsessed with them.

We should all be obsessed with Abelard and Eloise.
