He begins that text with verse 21.
So we are to be submitted to one another.
out of reverence for Jesus Christ.
That's what we do.
And what does submission mean?
It means you're submitting to the other's need, not submitting to the other's lust.
Peter confronted Ananias and Sapphira who lied to the Holy Spirit and they lost their lives.
He didn't say to Sapphira, you are a dutiful wife and submitted to Ananias and you get to live.
No, she lost her life.
Peter saw firsthand that she displeased Jesus Christ because she went along with her husband.
And that is very clear.
Anybody who wants to know what the Bible says, it better be very good at it and not just take verses out of context.
So first of all, we say we submit to one another out of reverence for Jesus Christ.
It isn't about your spouse even, it's touching the heart of Christ.
