We have to have a goal in mind.
The second thing is we have to give it our all.
So we go all in on the practice.
So I'm really engaged in this particular practice.
So in contrast, it might be like, I'm going to go for a run today and I'm just going to do a little slow jog and then that'll be me done.
That's not deliberate practice.
It's practice, but it's not deliberate practice.
It might be really helpful in a whole host of other areas of my life.
I don't want to be discouraging of us doing something rather than nothing.
As far as creating excellence, we need to have a goal in mind and we need to concentrate like this concentrated effort here.
And the third thing is we need to get immediate feedback.
So we seek consultation from others.
We seek out constructive criticism.
Maybe we get stats on our phone, for example, about how we went at that practice.
Having supervisors and mentors is really, really important.
