And obviously when we think about athletes, they've got coaches and those coaches are giving them immediate, in-the-moment feedback about how you did at that stroke, for example.
And so it's those three things that create confidence
deliberate practice where the 10,000 hours becomes really relevant.
I'll give you an example for myself and that is that for anyone that is training to be a psychologist or probably in many other professions also, you have to do videotaped sessions where you video yourself with a client and then your supervisor reviews it and gives you feedback.
It's deeply uncomfortable and anxiety provoking.
But that is the greatest place for change.
The kind of mindless practice.
That's a great example.
And I guess even using that word that we actually become really mindful of our practicing rather than being on autopilot and just going through the motions.
And this is the importance of not only quantity of practice, but the quality of the practice.
And so once again, if this is about kind of pursuing your form of excellence or your form of greatness, that if we need to be really intentional about how we go about it.
