And you're like, yeah, yeah, okay, that's true.
So we have to think about who is around us, what's the environment we're sitting in, and can I actually spend more time around the people that are like true believers?
I think that makes an immense difference.
So I haven't come to the last.
So we've basically got four characteristics that help us become gritty.
So the first is we have to have an interest.
We have to be interested in what we're doing.
The second one is that we need to practice deliberately.
So that 10,000 hour rule, intentional quantity and quality of practice.
So that was kind of the self-efficacy beliefs part.
And the fourth one is purpose.
This is a whole like 20 series episodes of things.
They're like the really common characteristics of being gritty, of having this particular kind of way of being in the world.
And the purpose is really around almost stepping out of yourself and how is it that I'm contributing to the world?
What is something that's bigger than myself here?
That contribution, that sense of purposefulness that is outside of my own instinctual desires or needs, that there is this reason for being here and my reason, like even, for example, in making the peach tartartan, that there will have been a purposefulness to that.
