And so that's an example of engaging in something that is larger than myself.
And there are so many other like incredible examples that we can see.
Like in some of the research there's examples of, you know, like a hospital janitor that is going in and doing the job.
But when they're doing the job, they're bringing with it such intention to make this room clean for the people that are suffering.
So it doesn't actually have to have anything to do with the specific thing you're doing but that you're bringing this intention that there's something really purposeful about this job I'm doing.
It's how you show up to what you're doing.
And the framework, the lens with which you bring an attitude really.
So that's, you know, that's this kind of last component here of the characteristics of grit.
So just as a reminder, we've got, you have to have an interest.
You have to deliberately practice.
You have to engage or we have to kind of cultivate a sense of purposefulness and we need to bring hope on board.
I do want to mention though that there is of course like this dark side to perseverance basically or to grit.
And the obvious thing that stands out to me is when we don't stop, when maybe there might be an invitation or a signal, some sort of sign that it's time to put the pen down.
