I will come to what we can kind of term as the dark side of grit in the second part of this, because I think that's really worthy of mentioning around when it's time to let go.
I want to mention that.
But, you know, if we just stay here in terms of like what's moving, helping us move forward with kind of endurance and resilience and this kind of passionate interest.
So first of all, the first characteristic is interest and we need to uncover what that is.
And I guess the kind of key message in there is
Try, do, discover, be curious.
The second characteristic of grit is practice.
And the thing that is undeniable in all the research that we know about excellence is that effort...
and practice is an essential ingredient to excellence.
And so what I really want to emphasize is that talent is in some ways useless if we're not putting in the hard work.
Like it remains kind of like untapped until we bring the practice and the effort to this.
And we could even unpack those characteristics for him there.
So he obviously has a passion for running.
or an interest for running, he's putting in the hours.
