But it's really interesting.
How did they see to do things?
Your working day is hugely restricted, isn't it?
There is no natural light to do things.
And so you would have had to change how you work in that sense because you could only do certain tasks in a certain time because a candle or a lamp is not going to bring you in a flight for certain tasks.
And, you know, you can imagine the centurions or the decurions, you know, who are having to do all the admin.
It would make things a lot harder.
So, you know, we don't in terms of, you know, how high they might have stood or, you know, we've got loads of bits and bobs of them.
So particularly at Corbridge, which I know we've just said a little bit later.
We've got a public fountain at Corbridge.
We have the foundations of a really impressive aqueduct.
All the stones have been stolen, you know, by those medieval and later people.
But they'd only need to be that high and that big if you've got to keep the water out of the way of other people or you've got to come a real long distance.
You have to start high, you know, sort of to get it down.
So actually, a lot of them would have been smaller.
You'd only raise it up as much as you needed to get the angle going.
