But, um, if I think people are able to accept getting help when they think of it as a black and white physical phenomenon, right.
And so if we keep it in terms and it's true of anxiety, depression, public humiliation, discrimination, that we have data to show that it causes that it is linked to high blood pressure, to cardiovascular disease.
Well, those are things that are tangible.
Those are things that are black and white.
And so perhaps if it's looked at in a biological fashion as opposed to a mental defect, then maybe people in general, specifically people of our community or anyone else who's out there like my, what's it, Jen Walsh, my favorite new ally, people who are out there dealing with the stress because our allies, I'm realizing now, are getting a lot of,
a lot of hate and a lot of hateful comments, and now starting to deal with some of the stress.
If we look at it as what it is, something that's biological and not just mental, or you're crazy or you're weak, then I think more people will be open to getting the help.
Because again, once I saw that the American Heart Association, and they don't play, they're data-based, evidence-based, when even they acknowledge that discrimination is linked to poor cardiovascular outcomes like strokes, I was like, oh, this has crossed over to mainstream and it's undeniable.
outcomes that legislation that statements that are creating an environment of stress and yes that stress is making us sick when you and stress kills and stress kills when you're able to wake up in the morning
and see the first black president and first lady on the heads of monkeys, but you really don't hear a whole lot of people in the administration come out strongly against it, it can make you sick.
When you're able to see Trump talk to black journalists like Rachel Scott, Abby Phillip,
when he's able to call them, imply that they like dirt or to call them stupid and you don't hear him condemned and you look like the very person he's talking about, yes, that can make you sick.
When you see 300,000 black women lose federal jobs, it can make you sick.
When you saw the firing of Lisa Scott in Federal Reserve, that can make you sick, although I'm very happy that the Supreme Court got that one right.
But when you start to look back and then with what you were talking about earlier this morning, Dawn,
when you take it back historically and you see where all of this legislation, all of these rules, all the overreaching executive branch can really go.
