She's 10 times better of an athlete than I am.
I mean, this woman is a beast.
I had to convince her to not do ultras.
She was running over 50 miles at a clip.
And I said, listen, Sharon, we have to get you to do resistance training because we want to change your body composition.
And we also need to affect bone density.
She had moved from osteoporosis to now osteopenia, which we're watching in real time as we're reversing her bones, her bone aging.
And I'm thinking, oh my gosh, she lifts heavier than me.
She's lifting three days a week, really heavy, pulled back the running, but she's still osteopenic.
And she has hormone replacement on board.
The glaring component that I didn't address, which I consider as a failure for me, which I'm not going to be doing anymore.
is that perhaps the resistance training isn't enough.
Looking at the data, she needs to be doing some kind of plyometric type explosive activity.
And I always thought to myself that running would be enough and box jumps would be enough, but it's not.
Because my goal is to reverse osteoporosis for her, now osteopenia.
Long way of saying what do we have to do is all movement good.
All movement is good.
And yet specific outcomes require specific tactics.
If you want to build and maintain metabolism and bone health, you must do resistance training.
You must prioritize that.
