So when you stand back, you say, okay, so the person accusing them is possibly associated with the Talbots, and the Tolbits and the Butlers have a

So, you know, you can't necessarily take it on on the surface level.
Yeah, there's smearing and there's a lot of now having having said that, um one of the others Richard Hedion, who um was also accused of of having many children and and sifling money off for for these uh children.
He was part of a wider um uh a phrase which might seem unusual, an ecclesiastical dynasty.
Um and that essentially means that his family were they had many branches of of of ecclesiastics, but these ecclesiastics were having children.
And those children were then also getting these religious titles, um, which, you know, uh meant that they had the rights to tithes that were being paid and they would, you know, set themselves up nicely for for the future.

So it uh you know, were they fornicators, if you have an ecclesiastical dynasty, it's a bit harder to say no they weren't, if you know that they're having many children.
Um, but you can't rule out that they were scurrilous political smears at the same time.
Uh Patrick, it's not going to surprise you if I say, of course, there's going to be another volume.
I think from even just the discussion that we've had here today, I think each of us could talk for probably another hour about both our own research and about medieval Dublin.
And also for anyone who feels that this is a very Dublin-centric uh discussion, um Bruce Campbell has a brilliant article looking at um assessing.
Kind of Dublin as a capital, was Dublin really the capital of of uh medieval Ireland?
And I think for anyone, particularly maybe from a particular city down in Munster, um they might feel that questioning Dublin as the real capital will be an article that they should definitely uh they should definitely follow up.
But yeah, you're gonna see many, many more medieval Dublin volumes because we we can we can talk and dig for a long time more.
