When people met physically face to face long ago, sort of like I did, you can't meet on the telephone, but you can meet on a Zoom or you can meet on a dating site.
There were no dating sites as I grew up.
We all are noticing of the separation of the personal as the rise of technology.

Spend some time getting acquainted with or even going to Zoom or doing all that sort of stuff.
The more impersonal, the fewer cues you have.
I know technology is really not the problem.
It's our use of technology that's the problem.
There are things you can't pick up except face-to-face.
