Like this morning, I was just like getting the sausages out of the fridge that I used to give the dog his drugs.

And as soon as I did that.

I was triggered to a memory that I was listening to a podcast last night when I put the sausages in the fridge and somehow that memory was linked to this location of sausages in the fridge.

And so this stuff is really, you know, you start to really notice it.

So at the start of this chapter, you start by acknowledging that there are lots of sort of

faddy and new agey ideas around sort of mind-body connections people you know get with the vibrations man and all of that stuff that have not survived scientific scrutiny but there is also this growing field of serious study and you know we've had Mary Helen Imordino-Yang on the podcast before and her PhD supervisor Antonio Damasio I know he's a big figure here Andy Clark who we just

heard from.

And you say that in this chapter, you're going to lay out the hard-nosed case for embodiment science.

And before we do that, I just want to ask perhaps an impertinent question, which you partly address in the book, which is that somebody said recently, if something calls itself a science, it's probably not a science.

Chemistry doesn't call itself chemistry science.

I face this thing in my work around implementation.

It calls itself implementation science, and I don't think it really is a science.

And so I'd just like to just get a sense, before we get into some of the studies and so on,

What would be your honest appraisal of this field of study?

Is it sort of a nascent, emerging thing?

Would you say it's fairly established?

Is this a contested phrase?

Are there many people who would say, like, I work in the field of embodiment science?

Or is this language that you are seeking to promote through the book that you're hoping will catch on?

And what's your sense as to where embodiment science is?
