Our original homeland was really quite vast and also extended into Colorado as well.
That's correct.
We do have – the Navajo people do have the largest –
land base of any indigenous nation within the United States.
I don't know right now if we, in population, we surpassed the Cherokee.
Our latest population count is about 404,000 people.
And about half of the Diné live off of the Navajo Nation.
Well, you know, here in the American Southwest, we are really experiencing a drought.
We've been in this drought for several years, and it's just really hot.
It feels barren.
And the Navajo Nation especially is experiencing drought.
And so those are the conditions that our people are living under right now.
And yet there is just incredible beauty in the landscape.
You mentioned Monument Valley.
During the first week of July, I was up in Bluff, Utah, which border in southern Utah, and that borders Navajo Nation just like 13 miles, less than 13 miles.
And the landscape, the mountain buttes, the shades, the colors is just absolutely exquisite.
And so you really have to experience it to come here and to see just how spectacular the land is and the landscape is.
