These are some of the smartest people I've ever worked with, but they don't know healthcare.

I think the cloud that's out there now allowing for access to things that you don't have to have on premises, security issues, backup opportunities is incredible.

We shouldn't negate that.

The problem is health systems are afraid and don't trust

to take their patient data, PHI, and put it in the cloud.

And I think as a tech company, sometimes you don't appreciate what that means because you haven't had that owner's responsibility of taking care of tens of thousands of patients who are very sensitive to what happens to their information.

So what I would suggest is we think about, first of all, community by community.

And you can define a community by zip codes, by economics, by school districts, by YMCA locations.

We as a society have not defined a system that we want to support and how we're going to support it.

We've taken a nation...

of very diverse communities and people and put one system in place, a federal system.

We have several commercial systems, but they're pretty much fee-for-service, even though they're suggesting they're in quote-unquote value-based care, and I say value to whom.

So how do you do this?

My belief, right or wrong, I believe, we should take a community.

I don't care if it's Baltimore or Chicago or LA.

What is the population of those cities?

What are their needs?

Not what can we build and offer them and get paid for, but what are the healthcare needs of those communities, those populations?

then provide the resources to address those needs, not reverse.

In so doing, we'll probably get to reality of the social economic issues as being the most important issues to address.
