I mean, I think there's a big industry now, Dr.

Drew, that's trying to say that it's a safe and natural product and you know, we should turn a blind eye to it because it's helping people, you know, so you know, not have to use opiates.

I mean, they say the same thing about cannabis.

They're like, you know, if someone has chronic pain, well, it's better they use that than um then they rely on, you know, these these painkillers.

But it's not, but I mean, for me, it's just an opiate by another name.

I mean, it's acting

On the opiate receptors in the brain, it has the same the same issue where um it allows you to sidestep the the cause of the pain and um the other things that you could do to actually alleviate the pain with a pharmacologic option.

Has the same.

Um and so I think there's a lot of misinformation out there because

And isn't that so typical?

It's like anytime they're trying to build a case to, hey, turn a blind eye to this, they always bring up, yeah, you know, but it helps someone get off uh opiates.

I mean, they do the same thing with cannabis.

They're like, well, what about the person who's got chronic pain and they're in palliative care and they're just about to die from cancer?

I mean, it's just such a small fraction of the population.

And the problem is, you know, as you said, it's just people who are really just using it to um

You know, mask pain and um and and and essentially cope the same way they use uh many other drugs.

I mean, isn't it so fishy though?

You know, we have two overdose death deaths that occur in the same day and they are found next to packets of commercially available kratom, you know, just like you said, the stuff that you can get from a gas station.
