And so it's okay to be angry.
It's okay to be ashamed.
It's okay to be pathetic and feel pathetic.
So one of the things that made me a little bit internet famous is I'll say really mean things to people, like to their face.
they're okay with it because there's authenticity behind i'm not saying i'm just making an observation that wow you like you really think you're pathetic and actually when i look at your life like you are pathetic like you've got nothing going for you and this is what some people don't understand there's a lot of these you know toxic manosphere influencers there's one thing that they do really well so if i'm a loser who's like at home watching pornography all day and i'm 25 years old and i
I go out into the world, everyone will tell me, you're a man, you're privileged.
Your life isn't that bad.
What are you complaining about?
There's one, and I feel pathetic.
And then the other thing is that I'll go to my mom and my mom will be like, you're beautiful, you're great.
You know, so people will tell me like, my life isn't like, I'm a good person.
I'm not a loser.
The toxic manosphere influencers will say, yeah, you are a loser.
Here's how to change it.
So one thing I've learned as a psychiatrist is if someone comes into my office, and it's a hard thing to learn, and they say I'm suicidal and I want to kill myself, the instinctive reaction is no, there's so much to live for.
And the best reaction as a professional is help me understand why you think that way.
And then what I discover is like with the person I talked about like an hour ago,
know this dude who's a very successful banker who has a noose in his basement and it's like okay like help me understand that and to understand that human beings aren't stupid and if he's got a noose in a basement and his life is so good this is what people don't understand there's got to be a really good reason right the gap between what you see and what there is like if this person is really successful that means they're carrying around a really deep negative weight
Does that kind of make sense?
Because if you see them at positive 100 and they're suicidal at negative 100, there's a minus 200 swing there.
