I guess we have the evidence now that forty to seventy percent of your weight and weight gain is determined by genetics.
There's also all these lifestyle factors and environmental factors as well.
You know, one thing which
Going back to the other thing I was talking about, exercise.
I guess again there's like this fallacy that people who have excess weight or who have obesity are not moving and not exercising, right?
They're maybe lazy, quote unquote.
And I've came across an interesting study where they they looked at the calories burnt by members of the Hadza tribe in Tanzania.
You know, they're miles and miles of foraging, hiking, trekking all day long.
They're always moving, but they're only burnt
burning around two and a half thousand calories a day, which is roughly the same as someone sitting in a desk job in London.
Yeah.
Also burning two and a half thousand.
This person in the desk job is likely having a worse diet and sedentary most of the day, but the Hadza tribe are more active, but they're both burning the same amount of calories.
So it's not just about exercise, right?
No.
You talk a lot about in in your book about the the set point of your body fat and weight.
And I've you know seen that phrase talked about a lot.
I guess, you know, almost like a thermostat.
If you set the thermostat and temperature of the room at twenty degrees
If it drops below twenty for whatever reason, the heat will kick back in.
