But like what actually happened is it kind of left us floundering a little bit.

So especially me.

Yeah, so through her eyes.

So like we said, I dreamed up this book and felt like it was something I wanted to write fictionally.

Um, but I processed a lot of my own personal experiences through it.

So I was um I had

I had just graduated with my PhD.

Um, had gotten this professional job.

I was the director of research for this really amazing organization, and thought my baby would slot into my Excel calendar, like where it was supposed to be between like morning and drop off, between daycare pickup and bedtime.

And then I I was going to be fine, like I was gonna figure this out.

And so I

I also um

So I wrote Maggie as the main character, and Maggie is very directly inspired by like my own stories and the thoughts that I had in the middle of the night, the conversations I was having with folks.

So Maggie is a woman who

has has this amazing professional career that she's really proud that she built for herself.

And then she decides um very intentionally to have a baby.

She goes to a Gaelic um fire festival inspired by a goddess in Ireland on a trip with her husband.

becomes pregnant later that night, um, has this baby, but then starts to lose her mind.

And that was not part of Maggie's plan.
