Time will tell, but I think so much is dependent on on the priorities of what the new Burnham administration if it ends up being anti Burnham today, it looks like it might be, but I know these things can change very quickly.
It's all going to depend on political will.
God, I really hope it does.
Andy Burnham was only health secretary for nine months at the end of the Brown government.
The one thing he did was he did intervene with legislation to make it much harder to have private providers to make the NHS the preferred provider.
He's very passionate about social care and he's very passionate about devolution.
You know, I mentioned the opportunities locally in local systems.
I think there'll be a much more federated approach than a centralised approach under Burnham.
But will he have the time and will he have the capital?
And so much of that is going to depend upon
on inflation, on geopolitical environments and I hope his local focus and his local authority background will focus his mind on what is achievable on the doorstep when you address things locally, because that's where we can make the most impact in general practice.
And you just can't with enormous trusts.
Completely.
But so much of it is funded by private equity groups.
How much could be nationalised in terms of a a social care service?
I think that would pay dividends, but it's going to need upfront investment.
And do we have upfront investment capacity right now?
Yeah, b and this is it, isn't it?
Now, the whole Plan B thing isn't replacing the NHS.
It it's sitting complementary alongside the NHS.
